All areas of decision-making across Schlau are subject to our governance procedures. The Board of Directors, Board Committees, Executive Committees and other employees at every level are subject to Schlau governance procedures and decisions cascade framework. The CEO of Schlau is accountable for sustainability within the organization.
Sustainability Committee is one of the Board committees in our governance framework. This committee reviews and recommends on our sustainability strategies, policies and practices to ensure corporate-wide understanding, ownership and sponsorship at Schlau's Board level.
As part of the enterprise awareness programme, the Sustainability Committee visits different Company businesses annually to speak with employees, vendors and suppliers, host community representatives and other stakeholders. Thereafter, feedback from visits are shared with the Board and responsible project manager. Delivering on these mandates, the Committee's works strengthen sustainability within Schlau Energy's businesses globally.
The Sustainability Committee organizes regular internal sessions to review and discuss a wide range of sustainability-related issues. Such sessions offer the platform to assess Schlau's sustainability performance, audit findings and the sustainable improvement metrics applicable to the Executive Committee. Furthermore, the Committee provides an oversight function on matters of public concern that might be of interest to Schlau Energy.
